Learn How to Create a Bulk  Hairpiece Template or Mold   
Do you want high quality International Hair?  Our next question is -Do You need to learn how to create an international hair template for your clients?    All stylists in the hair replacement industry need to know how to create templates for a hairpiece.  Creating a personal custom made hairpiece template can be considered an art but is not difficult.  You or your clients are looking for a new look right!  Here we will show you how to design a custom made hairpiece template. To Create a Bulk Hairpiece Template you need only a few supplies.  Our easy to follow “Create Templates for Hairpiece” illustrations below will walk you through each step needed to create the best international hair template.

Since the key to the success of a custom made hairpiece template is its fit, the base must correspond to the patron’s head shape and original hairline recession. To create a template for a hairpiece, the head which can be seen through and drawn upon is an ideal way to develop a pattern for such a base to make the proper fitting hairpiece. The first step in creating a custom made hairpiece template is to stretch plastic wrap over the clients head. Twisting at the sides and then having the client hold it down firmly, run clear, see through, packing tape strips from front to back and from side to side - overlapping each layer now you have the beginning of a custom made hairpiece template. To create a bulk hairpiece template four layers of clear packing tape is usually enough. Next using a permanent marker, draw the exact outline for the clients international hair template, the size you want, including front recession lines, part placement (if any), hair direction, exactly as you want to create the bulk hairpiece template. Now you remove the custom made hairpiece template from your clients head and cut off excess tape around edges
  • Place an 18-inch square of clear plastic wrap so that it covers the top portion of the head./font>
  • After pressing the wrap close to the head, use tape to contour the head shape.
  • Beginning at the forehead, place transparent tape on the wrap over what will become the outer perimeters of the pattern.

  • The areas of baldness determine these outer perimeters.
  • After you have taped the boundaries, cover the inner portion of the plastic wrap with overlapping pieces of tape./font>
  • Apply 3 layers of tape.
  • The tape will lock the plastic wrap into a permanent transparent tape template.

How to Create Templates for Hairpiece Pattern suitable for a Mans Hair System: Using a Sharpie permanent marker, draw pattern lines on your custom made hairpiece template while it is still on your clients head. Though requirements vary from client to client, some rules of thumb apply to most. Front hair line should usually be established by placing 3 or 4 of your fingers above the brow line. Lines are drawn from that point to form a pattern, which covers the bald area. Keep in mind deeper recessions look most natural.

How to Create Templates for Hairpiece Pattern suitable for a Woman’s Hair System: Side measurement is done like men's above. However, front to back is different. Because women typically thin in front but don't recede like men do, it is wise to use the natural bang and add hair behind it. (Some men may choose to use this technique also). Start your measurement about 1 inch behind natural front hair line, going over the top to back as far as it needs to cover the thin area.

If a part is desired, draw a line from a pivot point at back crown to the front hairline. Placement of the pivot point should correspond to what can be seen of your original growth.

 
Indicate the probable growth pattern on the custom made hairpiece template, the date the custom made hairpiece template is made, as well as other pertinent information concerning your hairpiece. After you have finished marking the custom made hairpiece template, add one more layer of tape (now 4) to cover and seal in the markings. Remember:  Left, right, center partings diagramed on your custom made hairpiece template are for definite parts in your hairpiece. If you wish to part on either side or use no part choose Multi-directional.

Templates for International Hair Client and Choosing  Hair Color: Using a sample from the crown or back of the clients head and Scotch tape around the end of sample(s). Please write down what part of the head your sample is coming from. If your sides have more Grey, clip a sample. Be sure to identify this for sides only. Grey hair is offered in synthetic or Yak.

Templates for International Hair Client and Choosing Density: Extra Light density is 60% thickness of an average head of hair. Light density is 80% thickness of an average head of hair. Light to Medium Density is considered 90% thickness of an average head of hair. Medium Density is considered 100% thickness of an average head of hair (This is considered normal). Medium to Heavy Density is considered 120% thickness of an average head of hair (This is thick). Heavy Density is 150% thickness of an average head of hair (This is very very thick).
